In 1985, a group of missionaries with the aide of the UN sponsored numerous families of Cambodian refugees. Our family was fortunate enough to be amongst one of the chosen.

My parents wanted the best for us, so they worked multiple jobs. Mushroom farming was an easy go to for them because nobody wanted to work in that field. Over the years we ended up sponsoring our aunts and uncles, whom all were exposed to mushroom farm labour. I too was interested in mushroom farming for a summer job and as of today I still have family who are in their last years of retirement. It was natural that mushroom farming quickly captured my interest. I ended up collaborating with many different growers and many different mushroom farms. I paused my career as the grower and manager for Canadas largest mushroom farm who grew white button and brown café/portobello mushrooms. I did not leave the industry, but it took me a few years to decide that I wanted to explore the field of Cannabis growing.
